Description
My father (William E Loft) was a wonderful photographer. Unfortunately the majority of his work has been lost, destroyed or damaged. I have been working on a digital "rescue" of the photos I still have.
This photograph taken in Taguatinga (Federal District,Brazil) in 1963 required almost no editing at all but I did use a water color filter to soften it. The three on the couch were visiting relatives (my paternal grandparents and cousin) from Memphis, Tennessee.

Beautiful artwork. Particularly love the family photos. Do you have any on the maternal side - Helen or her sister Stella?

Sarah (W.E.) -- terrific; a story without words. Sounds like your dad (and you) have/had an interesting life. l/f
W E Loft replied:
Thank you, Bill. Definitely an interesting life for the whole family. Dad died in Spain in 1989. On his death bed he was speculating about a possible move to Angola if he survived. He had already visited there to look it over.
Ross Odom
Each hand tells a story.
W E Loft replied:
Ross, you are a very perceptive guy. I think I've seen this picture dozens of times or more (my Dad took it) but in a way, I've managed not to really see it. You're right. The hands are interesting.
Joe JAKE Pratt
I love these family images. Had a bald Great-grandfather whose parakeet would land on his head.

Your father photography is outstanding There is so much personality in this photograph. V/F
W E Loft replied:
Thanks, Bob. I wish more of his work had been preserved. He took wonderful pictures in the Amazon in the 1950s which are mostly gone forever.
