Description
Cars parked on the street are whole collections of abstract art waiting to be found. In this case, it was not an automobile-- it was a city bus parked on upper Broadway near the George Washington Bridge in New York City. The simple white circle with orange and blue caught my eye. I have a long standing interest in wheels and hubcaps, which unfortunately seem to be going out of style. I used to imagine designing hub caps as a kind of dream job. There is some interesting geometry/math here. The white circle has five large circles in the outer part and ten of the orange flaps, so all five-based. the black ring around the blue center has six bolts. And it still looks great. And it isn't so unusual. A lot of car wheels have five bolts and seven or eight or nine spokes, which seems like a design nightmare, but the art has been mastered.

Great photographic eye to catch this! I like how the tire forms a black border around main subject. Well done! F/L and my minimalism group POD for 5/18/17.
