This was photographed in November 2014 at St. Spyridon Greek Orthodox Church in Washington Heights, Manhattan, New York City. Candles are used by Christians as images of Christ the Light who comes to save us in our dark world. Candles are statements of hope and faith and joy.
I am the light of the world; he who follows me will not walk in darkness, but will have the light of life. (John 8:12)
